Steel Lintel Replacement

Problem

 Steel lintels over some of the windows were rusting and delaminating and as a result the lintels lost much of their bearing capacity and also created stress cracks in the brick in the areas around the lintels.

 

Structural Solution

Removed and replaced the defective lintels with new steel lintels.

Steel lintel is rusting, delaminating and creating stress cracks in masonry in the area around the lintel. The rusted and delaminated lintel is exposed and the wall is shored prior to removal of lintel. Lintel removal process New steel lintel is installed Laying brick over lintel Lintel replacement and brick work completed
